I LOVE B & D's room. It is every kids' dream room. It has everything from 2 secret rooms (that we haven't even told them about yet - shhhh), a fun playroom, vaulted ceilings, a built in window seat & toy box (Davis likes to nap there, as you can see below)... oh & a neighbor who used to live in this house told me that one of the beams in the ceiling has been reinforced to support a swing. So eventually when we have the boys' beds set up as bunk beds, we'll maybe have to put a swing in.

The playroom is so fun. It is actually divided up into 2 rooms... with a little doorway & a window cut out dividing them. We're only really using one 1/2 of the playroom right now... but I plan on making the other 1/2 a "lounge" with bean bag chairs, etc. The other 1/2 just has TOYS galore. Today we cleaned up & organized. I made labels for the bins so that the kids could have an easier time cleaning up (or at least Mommy & Daddy will have an easier time chucking toys into bins). The boys were totally on board & had a great time dividing it all up. The mural I did this past fall... the walls were just blank before & I thought it'd make it more of a "get-away" if they were painted with something fun & imaginative.

We don't have too many "trash to treasures" in their room... but that red, vertical, 3-shelved table (with the lamp on it) is definitely one. I actually did find it in the trash. It was filthy & completely bizarre-looking when I found it, but I have a hard time passing up free furniture. I had Kyle build 3 little shelves then we spray painted it red. I LOVE it now. The blue chair I got at a garage sale... just painted it BLUE! I believe the bookshelves used to be a display for "Canterbury" candles in a Hallmark store. We just removed the plaque w/ the candle logo & stained it to match the boys' beds. The end table between the boys' beds was part of an antique vanity that I had as a little girl. I disassembled it & now just use it for the drawers.
For now the boys have what I call "Bert & Ernie" beds. :) But when they get old enough we'll set up their bunk-beds. We haven't even told them their beds can do that! The boys' room certainly is full of secrets, isn't it? :) Such a magical little room...
