My children's art

Here are some samples of the kids' art, as promised.
I love this animal Brett drew. I am not sure what it is...the top looks like a Grateful Dead Bear & the bottom looks like a leopard. Whatever it is, I think it's brilliant & it made me smile when I took it out of his backpack.

As I mentioned earlier, Davis really enjoys drawing up machines & inventions. It's quite a hoot. He drew this about a week after we got back from a trip to Disney World... apparently Mickey was still on his mind. :) I always ask what everything is (that is, if he doesn't tell me) & I write it down at the bottom so we don't forget. As you can see, he called this one a "Mickey Mouse Rocketship". I thought it was adorable & was impressed with the identifiable "Mickey Ears".

Libby is only 15 months... so we must cut her some slack. She likes to sit at the table & watch her brothers. She fusses if she can't get her hands on the crayons... but they usually wind up in her mouth with shavings (from her sharp little toothies) that she can't get off her tongue, which just gets her all in a tizzy. A couple weeks ago at lunch, however, I caught her using the crayons properly & had to snap some photos. What you see in the photo was the extent of her artwork... and I meant to save it, but I think it had too many spills & smears (it was a placemat, afterall) & I figured I had the photo that I could keep.

When I was little, I used to love looking back at old art projects I did. I still do! Hmm... I have my old highschool & college portfolio still at my parents' house. I'll have to get that from them... although beware, there are some nudes.

(But I don't think I ever had to "go there"... I think I always just took my s*w*e*e*t time getting every other detail on the rest of the body... procrastination definitely has its pay-offs.)

I love the boys' art---can you see why I had to make some of your art (and Becks) into pillows and why I have so much framed in the stair way---it is soooo creative, imaginative and wonderful.

Sorry, Leah, I just ran out of time to put your art on a pillow, but someday you may get a square on a quilt.

Seriously Rachel, I think Libby colors better than Cooper, and he is 4! He still just scribbles on the page like a toddler! Guess he takes after his mother. Your kids are talented!
