I just had chips & salsa for lunch... and it reminded me I wanted to share the recipe with you. It is the best recipe for salsa that I've ever come across. I actually love Chevy's salsa & have a recipe that is supposed to come close... but it involves fire roasting vegetables. Seriously. Come on. No really. No one has time to do that.
R E C I P E : TOMATO SALSA
1 (16oz) can crushed tomatoes, undrained
1 (28oz) can diced tomatoes, undrained
1 (4.5oz) can chopped green chiles, undrained
1 medium onion, chopped
2 large jalapeno peppers, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 tablespoon sugar
salt & pepper to taste
Combine all ingredients. Makes about 7 cups! (I admit I do use the jalapeno slices & minced garlic from the jar) Enjoy!
