I'm sooooooo excited. I'm throwing a party for one of my oldest & bestest friends, Miss Karah Petunia*. She just got engaged to a fabulous guy & we thought it was a good reason to celebrate.
*Note: this is not her legal name. I added the "Petunia" to her name when we were in approximately 8th grade... I thought it'd be funny to add it to all her cards & letters (she had moved to Chicago & I was still in St.Louis) to make the mailman think that was REALLY her name. I know - sounds so weird, childish & far-fetched. But, that's me & not a lot has changed. And neither has her nickname! She's still my Karah Petunia almost 18 years later.
Planning this party has been somewhat of a challenge. First of all, the invites had to be cuter than normal. I was, afterall, designing them for someone who does invitations for a living. Yeah, she's Karah, as in Bella by Karah. So I attempted to wow her & her guests. I know BBK could've done better, but then again I hated to put the guest-of-honor to work. So I cREaTed my own BBK knock-offs. :) ha
Anyway, another challenge is that she & I talk about EVERYTHING! We tell each other what we bought, the bargains we found, how we plan on decorating, what we'll be serving, etc. So it's been hard not having my other creative 1/2 get excited with me after every idea & shopping trip! But soon she will!
Anyway, I can't reveal any more info on the party... because Karah is one of my semi-avid readers. [1 of 4? Or is that a stretch?] So, I'll just show you all the photos post-party.
But I will reveal a few of my favorite party planning resources. Here are just a few of my faves that I have bookmarked in my "Party" & "Recipe" folders:
