I'll be kicking off a fundraiser - I named "cREaTing AWARENESS". I named it literally 3 seconds ago as I started to type this post. I'll come up with a cute logo or graphic soon. I had writers & designers block last night ... and I love how my fundraiser name just came to me in the blink of an eye just now. That happens.
Anyway... April 2nd is the World's Autism Awareness Day. In my family, it's that day every day. But on April 2nd continuing the whole month of April, I'm going to be doing my part to bring the rest of you all into our world.
I will share more with you as the days go by, but I wanted to give a heads up. Starting on April 2nd, I will have some of my 9x12" Quote Canvases for sale in my Etsy shop with all proceeds going to a Non-for-Profit Organization that is close to my heart.
"F.I.R.E. grants assist with the costs of special education teachers, para educators, materials and equipment, and staff development, and allow schools to educate children with special needs alongside their peers. Thanks to F.I.R.E. funding, children with special needs are reaching their highest potential, and the inclusion of children with special needs in our classrooms is enlightening and expanding the lives of all children by teaching acceptance, compassion, and the value of every child of God." [information provided by F.I.R.E. / Shari Webster]

In the next 10 days, I'll be turning the canvases [pictured above] into messages on ACCEPTANCE, COMPASSION, CHALLENGE, INCLUSION & DIVERSITY. They will be listed in my Etsy store the whole month of April with all proceeds going to F.I.R.E. until we sell out. If they sell out quickly, I will do my best to make more. [I wouldn't not like that]
This is my gift to Brett. He doesn't know about it, can't quite comprehend it ... but I know about it. I will feel like I did my part to help enlighten & educate more people on Autism. And it'll make up for all those days & years that we have felt helpless & misunderstood.
“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” - Howard ThurmanI'm going to go do it. :)
