Libby is so sweet. A couple weeks ago we went to this wonderful place [Paradise Park] where she got to do all sorts of fun stuff [including her own face paint]. Her brothers were in school ... so I thought it was SO SWEET when she declared "I maint dis bird for Davis." She was painting the bird for her brother Davis. Ah. Sooo sweet. :)
She worked hard on it.
Later that day when we picked up her brothers from school, she told Davis "I maint bird for you, Davis." I helped with the translation ... and he said [really flatly & full of doubt],
"...A bird?"
"...Does it look like a real bird?"
"...Or does it look like baby scrabble."
"...It better not look like baby scrabble."
:( I didn't think it looked like 'baby scrabble'. But regardless ... Libby changed her mind. When we got home, she declared her bird was for daddy. Smart girl. No birdies for Rudy McRudersons. I'd have taken my business elsewhere, too.

oh, rachel- I LOVE your stories! it definitely makes me excited for the years to come with my 2 kiddos-- just waiting to see how they will interact with one another!
Bless Libby's heart---it looks like a real bird to me and it would have a place of honor on my refrigerator!
