In Love With My Unfinished Basement ...

I NEVER {in a million years} thought that I would say I'm in love with my unfinished basement. But everything changed 2 weeks ago. It all started with the purchase of a {Pig Latin} "ii-Way". <--- that's just in case any of my kids decide to become awesome readers and stumble upon my blog {you never know}. In other words - they don't know about it yet.

We needed a place for them to PLAY IT & not monopolize our living room. So we decided to buy the fixin's to make our unfinished basement more comfortable {until we can afford to finish it}. Next came a dehumidifier, futon & a new carpet remnant {which coincidentally was the same green apple color I had painted the walls}. We moved storage over to the other side {it now shares with the Laundry area}, painted the walls, moved the old desk top computer to the basement, got internet hooked up down there so they can still play their beloved Webkinz, a few more fun touches ... and we now have {just in time for winter} a KIDS REC AREA.

Let me give you a tour:

{Bought this awesome futon at Nebraska Furniture Mart - on major clearance. Got the fun pillows at Target.}

{Got the illustrated world map from Target, hung up the awesome Spirit of St. Louis kite since we broke it this past spring trying to fly it.}

{Behind the futon (where I was standing to take the picture) is still the kids own arts & craft area ... I want to do a few more fun things over in that area, so I'll show you it when I'm done!}

All for the love of this. I don't think they all come with a Kids' Rec Area ... but ours did. :) It was a package deal.
