So they say a picture is worth a thousand words. I hope so.
LAST WEEK {true story}:
I'm at the craft store. My cart loaded up with canvases of various sizes. I'm at the check out & a lady asks "What are you going to do with those?" I say "I mostly paint quotes ..." [Side note: I find it hard to explain what I do. I can watch a person's face to get an idea of what they're picturing ... and usually I'm scared of what's in their head.] I go on to say "Different colors ... the quotes take up the whole canvas". She still looks like she's trying to draw up a visual in her head. When I can tell that's not going well, I say "Have you ever heard of Etsy?" As she looks at me blankly & shakes her head no, I can tell we aren't connecting on any level. It's as if we don't speak the same language and I'm desperately trying to her to understand me. I trail off "... it's an online marketplace ..." Then I just wrap it up & wish her well because now it's my turn at the cash register.
FROM NOW ON {made up story}:
I'm at the craft store. My cart loaded up with canvases of various sizes. I'm at the check out & a different lady [or maybe a man this time] will ask "What are you going to do with those?" I will just smile and hand them one of these ...
or one of these ...
... and just see where the conversation goes.
At least I won't have to wonder what they're picturing. They can see for themselves. Examples AS my business cards. Brilliant. And the most high-quality business cards I've ever laid my hands on. I'm in love. And am forever grateful to MOO for helping me explain what I do.
[P.S. These photos don't do the MOO cards justice ... trust me on that.]

I just stumbled on to your site. I LOVE what you do! Congrats on the new cards. They look perfect!
Wow, I'd only seen the quote ones---didn't know you had others, too. Hope I can get some of those cards to hand out in the check-out lanes.
"Excuse me I can tell you are a person who appreciates fine art. Here's my daughter's card. Feel free to contact her. No, thanks necessary."
Wow- I am so glad I found your blog! I love your work!
Rachel - you know I've been a HUGE FAN of your quote canvases for a long time. At least once a week when the boys take their bath Cooper will say "when are you going to get another one of those" (pointing at your quote canvases). Last weekend we had our Air Force cadets parents & some of his parents friends over for a bbq - they LOVED your quote canvases. One of them said something to the fact of "how can your kids not feel good about themselves waking up & seeing those quote every day". I agree!
Send a couple to your cousin in NJ-I will judiciously spread the word about your wonderful art!
They are fantastic!
you should give me some of your cards..i'd love to throw them in some of my orders or give one to nicholle, my mom, etc! those cards are fab!!!!
