This is very exciting. My 1st blog. I've had a website for almost 3 1/2 years now [www.cREaTebyRET.com], but everyone & their piano teacher has a BLOG... so I had to get one, too.
What the heck are you supposed to do on your 1st post? I'm all over the place - I've deleted 2 spiels already because of total randomness. So I guess for now I'll just keep it simple 'til I get used to the whole blog thing. :)
I started this blog as an additional cREaTive outlet. I love writing... and I've even been published. Yep - google me. I'll come up on Amazon w/ my story published in "Chicken Soup for the Military Wife's Soul". Someone in my old spouse's club [go pelicans!] had alerted us all that they were looking for stories & that they were paying $$$. I thought I'd give it a whirl. About a year & a 1/2 later I got contacted that my story had been selected. The excitement has worn off (and the $200 is LONG GONE), but I still get slightly giddy when I see the cover in a store. I have a hard time not forcing the stranger who's in the aisle with me to CHECK ME OUT (my story that is!). I guess that's the extent of my cREaTive writing accomplishments. :)
My real passion, however, is PAINTING. I paint anything & everything. No seriously. I paint things you didn't even know was paintable. But I especially like painting on canvas. I paint artwork for children's rooms, I've painted portraits of homes, a church & my children, and probably my most popular paintings are my Quote Canvases. I LOVE QUOTES. I love reading them, letting my mind soak them up - & if it's one that is especially moving, I want to read it over & over. I've been making the Quote Canvases for 2 1/2 years now & they sell like hotcakes. I sell them on my site, but they are also available at "Bloom" - THE CUTEST boutique in Southeast Missouri [Cape Girardeau to be specific].
As of yesterday, my site is also offering Wearable Art. I'm very excited about this. Most of the artwork I cREaTe myself on the computer! It's taken a couple years to get the knack of using a mouse instead of a paintbrush, but I think I've nearly mastered the program. The flowers in my logo I cREaTe myself. I did the polka-dots myself, too, but they just aren't as impressive.
Well, I'm going to have 3 well-rested children up in 5 1/2 hours, so Mommy better hit the hay.
.............................................................................How'd I do? [my 1st post!]

Wow! A real live Blog! Your website looks fabulous although I liked the old one with the shops and your cartoons of the kids, too.
I'm also excited to see some of my work on your web site---I've never considered myself creative, but I loved the creativity you and your sisters demonstrated in your art and wanted to share it with others.
Keep up the good work!
Love, MOM
The website looks AWESOME as always! I love checking out what's new.
Enjoyed your blog, too! When do you find the time to do all this? I am lucky just to get us all bathed, dressed and fed! :)
At the rate I am going, Emma may never have a baby book. :)
Love ya,
Janette
