... that's the new nickname I have given myself. Did you hear gardening is up 30% this year? I think that's so weird for a concept as old as "planting fruit & vegetables", but I'm one of those contributing to the rise [before I even knew it was "the in thing"].
A month ago I went and bought some things to start a garden:
• good organic soil
• strawberry, zucchini, chili pepper & tomato plants
• thyme, basil & rosemary plants
• some edging to try and keep critters out
• more edging to try and keep the critters out
[If you are under the impression I wanted to start composting JUST so I had an excuse to walk into Crate & Barrel, you are maybe 1/2 right. That was super fun. And it did help me feel a bit more glamorous about composting. I won't lie.]
Even Davis has gotten into composting. Yesterday when he finished his apple, I told him to put it in the compost. He even asked if he could "turn the compost" for me. True story: I found him spinning & rotating the shovel in the compost. He asked if that was how to "turn the compost".]
Here's how much the garden has grown in just one month!
{Mid-April}
{Mid-May}
Hopefully the trip to Crate & Barrel isn't all I'll be rewarded with ... I'm hoping for some strawberries, peppers, tomatoes & zucchini all just steps away from my kitchen.
We'll just wait & see ...

Cute! Your garden looks much better than mine---I am getting a much later start---haven't even planted zucchini yet!
