I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station,
through which God speaks to us every hour,
if we will only tune in.
- George Washington Carver
This quote says it all for me. Little things like this go on all around us, all the time. Tucked in an unsightly gutter, next to cables & wires ... is a beautiful display of love & devotion. She didn't worry about how the unsightliness of her little home looked ... all she saw were that her needs could be met: a roof over her head, a place away from danger and a comfortable spot to rest herself and raise a family. How simple. Not the most photogenic space, but what was photographed beautifully tugs at the heartstrings just the same. She's doing what matters most. It was a nice reminder.

how sweet to capture the feeding! i love watching all the birds in our backyard...i love the quote you added too...it's so true! taking note of what is going on around me..little and big makes me happy.
"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?"
I can't help but think of Matthew 6 when I see this post. Simply lovely. Thank you for sharing.
oh emily - that is perfect! thanks so much for adding that verse to this post!
dana - it was actually really easy to catch the feedings. she does it all day long! i just had to wait ... she comes back with worms, perches on the wire first to look around & make sure no prey is watching her ... then she heads in for her nest. it's the sweetest thing - that i could never get sick of watching ... [or photographing. to which my husband would say "and THAT's why we have 800,000 photos."]
