Art Acquisition from a 5 year old ...

Last Friday, Davis sold some ART!  To me.  He LOVES to draw for people, just like I used to do as a little girl.  He has a huge heart & he puts together little envelopes & delivers them to his friends [and girlfriend] at school, like so:

Well, he made this incredible panoramic drawing [he taped all the papers together himself] of some Star Wars characters.  I knew it was headed to someone at school ... but I just had to have it.  I wanted to keep it for him, too.  I offered to buy it.  He said "HOW MUCH?"  and I said "a dollar."  -SOLD!-

I handed him a $1 bill ... and he was on cloud nine.  Of course, that meant he had to spend it ... so Davis, Libby & I [Brett was at school] went to "the (New) Dime Store".

We walked up & down every aisle ... and he finally chose an "Alien Egg".  Put it in water & an alien hatches = BRILLIANT.  Davis thought it was awesome.  I believe it was $3.49 ... but I spotted him the rest, since I kind of ripped him off in the 1st place.  :)  

I have his Star Wars drawing all rolled up & I'm going to try and get it laminated [or framed], then I can hang it in the boys' room.  And I'm SURE you're wondering if I created a monster, but no.  He hasn't made me purchase anything since, which is good.  I don't want him to think it's all about the money.  I want him to do it because he enjoys it and likes making other people happy. :)  He still does.
