cREaTe now has a Secretary ...

Yes. I'm so busy, cREaTe now has a Secretary. And actually, it's the same one as Kate Gosselin, if you can believe that :) [as seen on many episodes of Jon&Kate+8, pre-split *sniff*, & in their old house].

I have had this since I was a little girl. I used to put all my fun stickers, note pads, stationery, pens, etc. in it, and line up all my porcelain Joan Walsh Anglund dolls on top with my porcelain unicorns mixed in for good measure. See the piece of "Rachel" rainbow tape there? That's authentic old-school Rachel decorating right there. I used to love this desk ... and I think if the 8 year old Rachel knew what I would be using it for 25 years later, she'd be giddy with excitement. I am.

For the past 5 years ... we've been using it for all the kids craft stuff. I carefully removed [and kept] the old mirror & replaced it with a piece of plywood painted with chalkboard paint. I filled all the cubbies with stickers, flash cards, etc. Below was for paper & crayons. It wound up being a kiddy-crafty catch-all nightmare with stuff shoved everywhere during clean up.

My husband would make a large circular hand motion around the entire desk area & say "This ... {swirl swirl swirl with the hand} ... is a nightmare. This ... {repeat motion} ... needs to be fixed." :D

So, this past weekend when he was gone for 4 days ... I made his dream come true. I moved things around & moved cREaTe into the Secretary. Although I work primarily in our basement ... up in the dining room is where I write out my notecards, wrap & package. So now I have a place where I can easily keep my supplies on hand. I have since wrapped up 2 packages & was sure to put everything back in its little cubby. My goal is to not see "the hand motion" regarding my Secretary again. If I do *gulp* ... I'm afraid he's going to fire her. :)

P.S. When's Secretary's Day? Now that cREaTe has one, I need to know this kind of stuff.
