Today Davis is "on the other hand", as he pointed out to me. Crazy. Maybe it's the leap over to the other hand that makes "six" seem so much older.

I hope your Birthday is spectacular. 15 minutes into your Birthday [that would be 12:15 AM] Mommy had to call 911 due to some small flames in a weird place in the oven after the cookie cake I was making you oozed off the stone. That was embarrassing. I was happy to see the firemen honored my request to not turn the sirens on. I'll wait until you're a little older to tell you all this. It might freak you out to know some men with axes were in our home while you slept last night. Anyhoo, I think it can only get better from here. :) I love you so much Davis.

Davis, we can't believe you are already "on the other hand". Too bad Mom didn't let you have an UNFORGETTABLE birthday with sirens and axes, but hopefully she found you some great replacement birthday treats to make up for you missing "the show." Happy Birthday "Big D"!
