Ta Da ...

Here are some shots from my new studio.  :)  I really didn't have any visions of how it was going to look when it began ... because I know beggars can't be choosers.  I just wanted a cozy place where I could paint.

But I'm really happy with the end result.  I like that it's simple.  And nothing's permanent.  We had talked about doing built-ins ... but in the end, everything came together & built-in's just weren't necessary.  Which is a good thing seeing that we were waaa[+aaa]aaa[+aaaa]aay over budget for the entire basement [+a].

[Here's just a sample of how the paint conversation went & it'll give you an idea for how the rest of the basement came together:  Me: "Honey, don't be silly.  I LOVE painting.  That is like NOT WORK for me.  It's fun.  I love it.  We can do that ourselv- [[[thought about all the sheetrock ceilings that would need primer & paint & all the new walls, trim & doors that would need primer & paint]]] - OK fine.  Let's just call & see how much..."]

So on that note.  The shop is open.  And new things should be in there soon now that I have a place to paint again. And I [sort of] feel the need to help pay off this room.  So far I think I've paid for 3 cubic inches.  Or let's just say the new blinds on the window [with 10% off military discount, thanks Lowe's].
