Not much to report here... my brain is scattered between this, that & the other! :) We have friends coming in later this afternoon to stay with us a night, my husband & I leave tomorrow for a wedding in Houston [sans kids], and I'm busy getting plans in order for Brett's 7th Birthday! So this is another post of just Random Thoughts...
- Happy AUTUMN. Here are some of the signs here around my house that it's FALL.
- I made this purple peony for someone who had seen my pink one! It took me awhile to like the purple one as much as I did the pink... but after some days of staring at it & comparing it to the pink, I finally got it to a point where I liked them the same. I haven't decided yet what to do with the pink one... I've grown pretty attached to it. I haven't brought myself to the point where I want to put it on Etsy... so she might not ever leave this house.
- I found one of the neatest pieces of jewelry dedicated to Autism... seriously, how neat is this. I'm thinking about joining this group of "Etsy for Autism". And this pendant is going on my Christmas list - with Bretty's birthstone. You can find this pendant in this shop here. And you can read about Brett here. :)
- I'm planning a ROBOT BIRTHDAY for Brett. It's what he wants to be for Halloween, so I usually tie his Birthday & his costume theme together. (last year was pirates!) I love planning parties - I tend to go a little overboard with the details, but I love being surrounded by the theme. I research fun ideas for weeks before sending out the invitations!
- It's almost time to get a pumpkin! But you'll see here why I'm a little hesitant... the squirrels carved our pumpkin last year. Augh.... I think if it happens again this year I'll have to hang up a sign that says "Carving done by our neighborhood squirrels".
- I am continuing to enjoy my time on Etsy! Yesterday I found a forum for people that were teaming up to do a "sneak attack". They were forming a group of about 5 people who were going to visit a shop that had been around Etsy for awhile with only 0 or 1 sale, and had items for under $10 (so that everyone got to do a good deed, but didn't have to break the bank to do so). Then at a given time they all did a "sneak attack" buying an item from the agreed upon seller. It was such a hit that they formed up another one & chose another seller. I thought it was sooooooo sweet! The comments in the forum were so sweet & positive... people were saying things like "I hope this person checks their e-mail daily!" and "I hope this person has enough packing supplies!" They were all feeling the excitement of this victim of the "sneak attack" & couldn't wait to make someone's day. SERIOUSLY - it was so sweet. There are so good people in this world that just want to put smiles on faces. :) I love those kinds of people.
- I'm off to the grocery store to stock the house for when the grandparents come to stay with the kiddies. I am going to miss the kids terribly... but I have to admit I am looking forward to a day filled with no diapers or bottom-wiping, not having to make any PBJ's, no time-outs & no tantrums. But, I also know that when you say goodbye to all that, you also have to say goodbye to all the good stuff. So I'll enjoy mine & Kyle's get-away, but will be sooo ready on Sunday to come home to kisses, hugs, smiles & feeling so needed - by these rugrats. :)
Hope you have a GREAT WEEKEND! :) See you all when I get back!
