Someone stole my idea...

and the worst part is, it's cuter than I could've made it... that darn son of mine. :)

Here's the story... a few weeks ago I was looking out the window (sitting here at the computer) & I saw the 2 swings hanging down from the swing set. I thought about what a cute little image that is and so while I was thinking about it, I did a quick sketch on a notecard of an idea that came to me. I had it sitting next to the computer for days. Davis (4) always comes in to get blank paper from the desk drawer... so I'm guessing it was then that he saw my sketch.

I was attempting to "sleep in" (anything past 7:15am) when Davis came in to show me his drawing. I was SHOCKED to see my idea on his paper!!! My sketch wasn't even that good, just enough to remind me later of an idea I had in a fleeting moment. But he saw it, knew what it was & drew his own version of it on paper. I couldn't believe it. It was adorable. Made me SMILE. :)

At one point in time we didn't know if Davis had an artistic bone in his body... because every time we got out the crayons & markers he would wind up building something with them. (which of course is creative in its own way!) But I think it was just the age. He is extremely artistic & I love love love it. I have no problems at all with sharing my designs with him. :) I think he did a great job & even made it his own. (The ladybug is a nice touch!) What a little cutie.

Or, he would sort the crayons by color!

He did a very nice job and I love the ladybug, too.
