I have a new favorite blog to read ... My friend Dana [from Plum.Tree.Studio] has sent me over to this blog "Dana-Made-It" from time to time to show me something incredible or to enter a give-away. But now it's sort of addicting to go & see what Dana-Made. She doesn't use patterns & upcycles as much as she can. Totally my kind of gal. Click here to see all the things that she's made. [You'll get sucked in]
Well... I'm afraid Dana-Made-It-Look-Too-Easy.
She totally inspired me to drag out my sewing machine & just wing it with some discarded clothes. Some things look better than others ... some things were a nightmare. But it was fun. I figure the clothes are no worse off than their original state [which is why they were in a bag for Goodwill]. And I learned how to gather up the fabric which was thrilling. I loved that.
Here are my sad sad pics of one of the dresses I created. I saw this dress in the Lands End Kids catalog & thought it looked simple enough.
As you can see, Libby's super thrilled about mommy becoming a fashion designer.
[One of Libby's old onesies]
[This was as scary as it looks. I kept losing my basting stitch. Strings were everywhere. Oh - and I didn't know what I was doing.]
GET...
THIS [weird long dress]...
OFF OF ME.
That's the other big difference between me & Dana. Her daughter's always smiling. And not trying to rip the dress off. :)

LOL! I am SURE Libby would love it if you put a princess on it : ) I love it if that counts for anything... (hey she may have just been hot!)
haha. funny post! Thanks for the shout out! The dress turned out great. And even if she's not smiling....she's a cutie!
oh my gosh rachel...great job!! getting brave huh? ;) libby cracks me up!!
Maybe July is not the time to put her in a long-sleeve turtle neck dress! I'm sure she'll love it. . . in October.
Caroline is still traumatized with the memory of me lifting up the circle skirt I had made her with christmas bulb patterened fabric to show everyone that it, indeed, was a real complete circle...(of course she was 16...no, just kidding)
