Happy Mother's Day

Yesterday, I saw a nest in this little tree on the side of our house.  The same tree, the same location that a female cardinal had used last May for her nest.  Just a couple months ago when we were starting to do some spring cleaning we moved the old nest from last year.  I gave it to Davis who put it in a special place in the garage.  So I was a little puzzled when I saw a new nest in the same spot.  I love this little spot because we get an awesome view through the window from inside our garage.

Today I went out to see if I could catch the Mama Bird in her nest ... and there she was on Mother's Day.  Mama Cardinal back in her nest.  Same month, same spot.  Later it started raining ... and she sat there.  Alert, patient & protecting her little babies.  What a mom.  I can't wait to wait this out with her again.

I want to wish a Happy Mother's Day to all the mommies out there, including my own.  :)  And to all the women who are waiting to become mommies for the first time, I made a wish for you today.   We were at a fountain and the kids wanted to throw in pennies to make a wish.  I had 4 pennies, so I made one, too.  I can't tell you what that wish was, or supposedly it won't come true.  :)  But I made a wish for the mommies-in-waiting ... I hope it comes true for you soon!
